Site
There has been several people who have asked what is going to happen to the site. I have talked to Betty and we are going to continue this labor of love. There is no plan on shutting down and I will continue hosting this site on my shared server.
If you have any recommendations you can send them to Betty or myself. I have been working on this project for about 5 years now with Art so I do have a understanding on what he was trying to achieve with this site and plan on keeping to the same course.
Rest in Peace Art!. We are going to miss you!

Art
I bring great sadness and regret to let you know that Art passed away last night. He fought to the end. He passed away in his sleep last night after a long day of medical issues.
I can’t say enough or do justice for what he has brought to my life these last 6 years. He freely gave me his friendship and let me explore history as he knew it. He is going to be deeply missed.
Our friendship started 6 years ago when my dad asked me to assist one of his sea buddies with his web page. I would go over to his house every Sunday to help him with the site and look after his computer. I used to alway laugh when he would tell anyone on the phone that his computer person was over and he had to go. :>
What I enjoyed was his stories about what occurred with him over the years. He told me the same stories on more then one occasion but I never complained as he always brought a slightly different perspective each time he told the story.
He is going to be missed. He fought to the end and went peacefully in his sleep. The one thing that I will remember about him is his statement to the doctor a couple of weeks ago when the Doctor asked him “Do you want me to take all measures to keep you alive?” and he answer “Yes”. When the doctor asked him Why? He stated ” I love my wife and I don’t want to leave her! God bless you Art. Thank you for your friendship over the years.

Art Update
I stopped by and seen Art at the hospital today. The lastest word is he had a stroke. The good news is it only appears to have affected his speech.He was still out of it when I was there so I did not get to talk to him much today and when he did talk he was very hard to understand.

Art update - Prayers needed
Well, this update is not good. Art had some seizures on Sunday and has been under sedation this last week.
Please put him in your prayers!! He is really going to need this help during this time.

Art Update
I stopped by to see Art today at the Summerlin Hospital. He had to go back in on Thursday due to a infection he has. Prior to this week he was up periodically during the day moving around the house using his walker. They are running some tests on him to determine what is causing the infection.
